Ashene Kapukotuwa

Born in to a family with a music background on the 7th of July 1998, Ashene Kapukotuwa followed his father’s footsteps to be a musician. Music runs in Ashene’s blood is a fair statement to say. When Ashene was 8 he won the inter school singing competition, The Glowing Star. Ashene’s father taught him to play the guitar which made Ashene’s love for music grow.
Ashene has also completed a diploma in audio engineering. Although music was in his soul, at first he didn’t have a big interest in following music because since he was small he wanted to be a cricketer. After pursuing sports in school, his true calling spoke to him and made him participate in many music competitions.

In 2014, he was awarded as the runner up in Vocalize which is the biggest inter school competition in Sri Lanka. At this competition Ashene met three boys who were passionate about music just as he was. As destiny intended, attending this competition changed his life forever.

In 2016, Ashene with the three boys got together and formed a band consisting of six members which has now become a family. They named the band ‘Infinity’. Soon the band started getting the attention of the youth and rose to fame. Ashene is a Vocalist of Infinity and the band is the definition of entertainment. They released their first single in August 2018 and currently have two original singles under their name.

Infinity is the current band which supports the Sri Lankan pop duo Bathiya and Santhush, who grabbed the attention of the global music industry. While the band as itself is successful they have played with many popular Sri Lankan artists such as Jaya Sri, Indrachapa, Wasthi, Shihan, Sanuka, LaSignore, Randhir, Umara, Umaria and many more.

This is just the beginning for Infinity and Ashene in revolutionizing the music industry of Sri Lanka.
